Discover, Balance & Empower
Stephanie Christensen, licensed couples and family therapist, is highly trained in systemic psychology and human development. Using her own therapeutic modality, The Kota Method, she specializes in helping individuals, couples and executive teams reduce mental health symptoms and maximize their potential with a three phase process: discover, balance and empower.
Theoretical foundations for the Kota Method include, interpersonal neurobiology, attachment theory, emotion-focused therapy, internal family systems, dialectics and spiritual formation.
Stephanie received her master's degree in marriage and family therapy from Virginia Tech. She is a certified equine-assisted psychotherapist and trained in emotion-focused therapy, child-parent relationship therapy, internal family systems, interpersonal neurobiology and confessional community group therapy. She practices trauma informed therapy.
A lifelong resident of Loudoun County, Virginia, Stephanie has learned to value sun-streaked roads that smell like honeysuckle and a close-knit community. Her husband and horses keep her grounded and her three children remind her to live more fully.
